Balcony plants enchant with their lush flowers. For the sunny balcony there is a large selection of hanging plants in a wide variety of colors for hanging baskets and balcony boxes, which usually bloom until the first frost.

In a nutshell

  • large selection of hanging plants for the balcony
  • need regular water supply
  • not all plants need to be trimmed

Classic: hanging geraniums

Hanging geraniums (Pelargonium peltatum) are available with single, semi-double and double flowers. In contrast to their upright-growing sisters, the flowers are smaller, but hanging geraniums form all the more. Regular trimming is not necessary, especially with single-flowering varieties.

Since the hanging plants are on sunny balconies in the blazing sun, the plants are very thirsty. On extremely hot summer days, it may be necessary to water the hanging geraniums in the morning and in the evening. However, make sure that the substrate is slightly dry before each watering process, because the hanging plants do not tolerate waterlogging. In addition, you should not skimp on fertilizing. It is ideal if you give the flowering geraniums a portion of fertilizer every week.
